    October is National Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month!

Each year millions of people find a devoted housemate at their local shelter. The ASPCA encourages Americans to "Make Adoption Your First Option"™. This October, "Make your house a home - adopt a shelter dog!" Nothing says "welcome home" like a wagging tail and a pair of warm brown eyes.

This month also helps bring attention to the pet overpopulation faced in every state, county and town in America. Many animals are being euthanized without a second chance to find a home. That is why it is important to have your pets spayed and neutered and to seek out your new companion from a shelter.

    Pets of the Month

Cole Cole was found wandering: abandoned and homeless. He has adjusted well to the shelter and is a good, sweet, friendly boy. He is so gentle and just wants to be loved! Cole walks well on a leash and would be great in any family environment. Adopt this fellow and you will be rewarded with a loving and loyal friend. Cole is up-to-date with routine shots and spayed/neutered.

Would you care to adopt Cole? Please contact the Salem County Humane Society, phone 856-299-2220

You can also donate money online (please click the Paypal button below). Please note that we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and that your donations are tax deductible.

On behalf of Cole, thank you so much for your help.

LaurieLaurie was born at the shelter and is waiting (with her sister Brianna) for her furrever home. Laurie was the biggest and healthiest of the litter, and she is intelligent and playful. Laurie is up-to-date with routine shots.

    How You Can Help:

The Salem County Humane Society is a no kill shelter operating strictly by donations and fundraisers; we never discriminate on the basis of health or age, and take in the abused, unwanted and abandoned companion animals that other human beings have forgotten. If you would like to help our shelter, please read our "Ways you can help" page. If you would like to make a donation, please click on the button below. If you prefer sending a check, you can send it to the mailing address on the right hand side.

Donate a Bed We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our boarding facilities because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our kennels. If you would like to donate a bed to help one of our dogs, please click here.
